Franklin Toastmasters Sweep the Area 26 Contests!

This was another banner contest for our club. I wasn't present, but word from Teresa Hedlund was:

International Speech Contest:

Our Franklin 524 Toastmasters Club was well represented with Vallery Hoy and Mike Meier participating in the International Speech Contest. There were a total of 4 contestants in the Area 26 contest. Vallery Hoy took 2nd place with her speech on Hoy's Toys and Mike Meier took 1st place on his speech about Are You a Hero?  

 

Evaluation Speech Contest:

For this contest, Area 26 had 5 contestants. Rhonda Frum walked away with 2nd place with her heartfelt evaluation and Erik Jul took 1st place with his focused coaching in his evaluation of the target speaker.

 

Vallery commented that Erik gave the best evaluation she'd ever seen!

Yes, our club took first and second place in both contests. What does that tell us? Wow... we've got some good speakers. It's a reflection on the skills of all of us and the support we give each other. We continue to grow those skills with every meeting. Is it any wonder membership has soared to over thirty when many clubs are struggling to keep their rolls at twenty? No it's not. We continue to attract new members, people who see our value and join to grow.
